This is "Curbie" ™.
The name implies what it was designed and built to do. Curbie
™ cleans
curbs, or rather the toughest part of a curb. That being, the upper
most and vertical side of a curb. Curbie ™ has
three high pressure jet nozzles that all spray water onto the
curb at the same time.

Curbie was designed, built,
and tested by the lab here at Concrete Surface Cleaning.
Curbie was built because there is not anything like it
commercially available anywhere. What makes it so special
are the unique design points.
First, Curbie has 12
wheels. Four wheels are located on both the left and right
sides. And four wheels are underneath the carriage. The
wheels on the side make sure that Curbie is always the proper
distance away from the curb. These wheels also allow Curbie to
track around circular parking islands like those you see at office
parks or the grocery store parking lots. The four wheels under
the carriage are used by the operator to guide Curbie in both a
forward and reverse direction.
Second, there are three water
jets that spray water in a fan pattern. The 2 adjustable jets
at the front of the carriage clean the side of the curb and that
part of the curb where there is a transition from the flat surface
to the vertical facing of the curb. The water jet on the side
of the carriage is mounted on an adjustable tower. The tower
can be raised and lowered as not all curbs are exactly the same
height. The tower can also be moved closer to the curb when
the top of the curb is wider than anticipated.
Third, because the water jets are
always in a stationary position, there is not water blowing all over
the place. This means that even when there is pine straw next
to the curb, as shown in the above picture, the pine straw is not
disturbed.
Fourth, Curbie is very
precise. So the quality of work is
outstanding.
Finally, Curbie is much faster
than 2 or 3 people trying to do the same thing. That
means Curbie provides a faster service to our clients at costs far
less than the industry
standards. |
